Daewoo Cargo Demurrage Charges: 5 Free Days and Storage Rules
A plain guide to free storage at Daewoo terminals, how the daily storage charge (demurrage) is worked out and how to collect a parcel after the free days.
When a parcel reaches the destination Daewoo terminal, the receiver gets 5 days of free storage from the arrival notice. If the parcel is not collected within these 5 days, a daily charge of 10% of the freight charge is added. To avoid it, collect your parcel soon after you get the arrival notice.
How the 5 Free Days Work
Daewoo Smart Cargo works from terminal to terminal, with no home delivery, so terminals have limited storage space:
Unloading and Notice
When the bus is unloaded, the parcel goes to the terminal cargo room. It is scanned in, and an arrival notice is sent to the receiver’s phone.
No Storage Charge
The parcel is kept at the terminal. Main terminal cargo counters are open 24 hours, so you can collect at any time during these 5 days without a storage charge.
10% a Day
From the sixth day, Daewoo charges 10% of the freight charge for each extra day the parcel stays at the terminal.
How to Work Out the Charge, With Examples
The daily charge is based on the freight charge you paid at booking. The formula is:
Storage Charge = (Freight Charge × 10%) × Extra Days
* Extra days = the number of days at the terminal, minus the 5 free days.

How to Collect a Parcel After the Free Days
If the 5 free days have passed, follow these steps to pay and collect your parcel:
1. Show Your ID and Booking Number
Show your original CNIC and your booking number at the terminal cargo counter. Staff will find your parcel and work out what you owe.
2. Pay What Is Owed
Pay the storage charge and anything else still owed at the counter, and keep your receipt. Ask which payment methods the counter accepts.
3. Check the Parcel and Sign
Staff bring your parcel. Check the box, seals and tape before you sign for it.
