How to find Daewoo Express Smart Cargo counters at bus terminals, find your way around the terminal and check opening hours before you go.
Where Are Daewoo Cargo Counters?
Daewoo Smart Cargo does not use high-street parcel shops. It works from Daewoo bus terminals, across its terminal network in Pakistan. Smaller city sub-agencies may also take bookings during the day.
The terminal cargo counters handle everything: booking, weighing, loading parcels onto buses, unloading them when buses arrive and handing them to receivers.
Major Metropolitan Terminal Hubs
Daewoo lists these main terminal cargo counters, which are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:
Lahore
Main terminals include Thokar Niaz Baig and Kalma Chowk. Both are open 24 hours a day.
Rawalpindi
The main Rawalpindi terminal is on Peshawar Road. It is open 24 hours a day.
Karachi
The main Karachi terminal is at Sohrab Goth. It is open 24 hours a day.
Faisalabad and Other Cities
Faisalabad also has a main terminal cargo counter that is open 24 hours. For other cities, call the helpline to find the nearest counter and its hours.
Finding Your Way at the Terminal: Cargo vs Passengers
First-time visitors often go to the passenger ticket area by mistake. At busy terminals, cargo is usually handled away from passenger ticketing:
1. Look for the Cargo Entrance
Many large terminals have a separate entrance or area for cargo and luggage. Ask the security guard at the gate if you are not sure.
2. Use the Cargo Counter, Not the Ticket Counter
Cargo is booked at its own counter, with scales for weighing parcels. Do not queue at the passenger ticket counter; ask staff for directions to the cargo desk.
3. Parcels Waiting for Collection
Parcels that have arrived are kept in a storeroom near the counter. When you collect, counter staff bring your parcel to you.
How to Check Opening Hours
Main terminal cargo counters are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Smaller city sub-agencies usually close by 6:00 PM and are shut on Sundays.
Before you travel to a smaller terminal or sub-agency, call Daewoo customer care on 042-111-007-009. Tell them your city so they can check the opening hours for you.
Tips for Visiting a Terminal
Bus terminals are busy places, so keep these safety tips in mind:
- Tell the guard: Tell the security guard at the gate that you are going to the cargo counter, so they can show you where to go.
- Stay away from moving buses: Never walk across bus platforms or areas where buses reverse. Use the marked walkways.
- Heavy parcels: If you are collecting heavy boxes, bring someone to help you carry them to your car.
