Daewoo Smart Cargo: Inter-City Terminal Freight Guide
An independent, plain guide to how Daewoo Express Smart Cargo works: booking at the terminal counter, how parcels travel on the buses and how to collect them.
What Is Daewoo Smart Cargo?
Daewoo Smart Cargo is Daewoo Express’s cargo service. It works from terminal to terminal across the Daewoo bus terminal network in Pakistan. Instead of warehouses and delivery vans, parcels travel on Daewoo’s inter-city passenger buses.
Parcels go in the luggage bays of the buses and travel between Daewoo terminals. This suits shops, businesses and individuals who want to send parcels from one city’s terminal to another’s.
The Basics of Smart Cargo
Scheduled Bus Runs
Parcels travel on Daewoo’s inter-city buses between terminals, so they follow the bus timetable instead of waiting in a warehouse.
Terminal Counters
You book at a cargo counter at the sending terminal, and the receiver collects from the cargo counter at the destination terminal.
Booking Slips
You get a booking slip with a booking number. You use this number to track the parcel, and the receiver needs it to collect.
Arrival Notice
When the parcel reaches the destination terminal, the receiver gets an arrival notice.
How Sending a Smart Cargo Parcel Works
Knowing each step helps you plan your parcel:
Packing
Pack your goods well, so they fit in a bus luggage bay. Dangerous, flammable and other banned items are not allowed.
Drop-Off at the Terminal
Take the parcel to the cargo counter at the sending terminal. Staff weigh it, check the packing and take the receiver’s details.
Booking Slip and Label
You get a booking slip with your booking number. Ask the counter whether a label is put on the parcel.
Loading and Travel
The parcel is loaded onto a Daewoo bus and travels to the destination terminal.
Arrival at the Terminal
When the bus arrives, staff unload the parcel and keep it at the terminal until it is collected.
Collection
The receiver brings the booking number and their original CNIC to the destination cargo counter to collect the parcel.

What You Can Send and How to Pack It
Parcels travel in the luggage bays of passenger buses, so there are packing and safety rules:
- Strong packing: Seal cartons with strong tape and plastic strapping. Each carton is usually limited to about 30 to 40 kg. Fragile items, such as electronics or glass, need a strong wooden crate.
- Clear labels: Write the receiver’s full name, mobile number and destination terminal clearly on the box with a permanent marker.
- Not allowed: Dangerous substances, flammable chemicals, live animals and unboxed items are not allowed.
How Smart Cargo Differs From a Courier
It helps to know how Smart Cargo is different from a normal courier:
- Collect from the terminal: Daewoo does not deliver Smart Cargo to your door. The receiver collects the parcel from the destination terminal cargo counter.
- Travels by bus: Parcels travel on passenger bus runs between terminals, not through a chain of warehouses.
- Storage charges: Storage is free for 5 days after the arrival notice. After that, a daily charge of 10% of the freight charge applies.
